What we deliver,and where we're going

Our current delivery focuses on capacity building in cyber security, artificial intelligence, business leadership and entrepreneurship. Alongside it we publish a living roadmap — a direction of travel rather than a set of fixed promises.

Current delivery

Four strands, one progression route

Each strand is designed to stand alone and to connect. Someone can arrive through free cyber security training and leave with a mentor, a community and access to the digital platform.

Roadmap

A living roadmap for 2026 to 2028

We publish our direction openly so partners, participants and funders can see where we are heading. Milestones evolve as the region and the community evolve.

Phase 1

2026

Build the Foundations

Establish the regional platform, deliver the first specialist programmes and build the partnerships and volunteer network that everything else depends on.

  • 01Establish the South Yorkshire regional platform and community.
  • 02Deliver capacity-building programmes in cyber security, artificial intelligence, business leadership and entrepreneurship.
  • 03Develop partnerships with technology, education, business and community organisations.
  • 04Build a regional volunteer and specialist leadership network.
  • 05Connect workshop participants to ongoing digital resources and mentoring.
  • 06Strengthen university engagement and Black History Month / Power of Expression programming.
Phase 2

2027

Deepen Participation & Pathways

Widen the offer across all four boroughs, formalise progression routes and start tracking outcomes rather than attendance.

  • 01Expand the training and mentoring offer across South Yorkshire.
  • 02Develop stronger student, founder and community pathways into technology and entrepreneurship.
  • 03Grow partner-led programmes in digital health, AI, cyber security, innovation and business growth.
  • 04Introduce stronger outcome tracking: progression, jobs, businesses supported, mentoring, funding readiness and skills application.
  • 05Create more founder and community showcases and spotlight stories.
Phase 3

2028 and beyond

Scale Regional Impact

Turn a regional programme into a recognised talent and founder pipeline with real access to investment, markets and influence.

  • 01Develop a recognised South Yorkshire pipeline for diverse technology talent and founders.
  • 02Increase access to investment, markets, mentors and corporate opportunities.
  • 03Strengthen cross-region collaboration with the wider Black Tech Expo ecosystem.
